This week’s Mississippi Eye Care Staff Spotlight features a member of one of our newest clinics, Mississippi Eye Care Carthage! Meet Valerie Williamson, an Edinburg, MS native who works the front desk in our Carthage clinic.
Tell us about your family (including four-legged varieties!)
I am married to Zach Williamson. We have 2 kids, Marli (12) and Myles (10) Cooper. We reside in Laurel Hill, MS. We have 2 dogs, Lynard and Sunnie. We also have a turtle named Franklin.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is getting to meet new patients and tell them about all our clinic has to offer.
What is your favorite local charity or non-profit?
My favorite local charity is Remo’s Rescue. The people who are a part of Remo’s are exceptional. They help dogs in need when no one else will. My mom has fostered and still fosters quite a few dogs for them. Seeing the dogs go from strays to beautiful well-loved animals is an opportunity I’m glad I get to see.
What dish would your family and friends say you cook best?
My friends and family would probably say that the dish I make best is my cornbread dressing or sweet potato casserole.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Christmas. I love that kids are so happy and people are genuinely in a good mood during the holiday season. I love all of the decorations, all of the cards you get, and all of the food, of course. My favorite thing is the play that the kids at my church put on every year. It is a different theme each year and they do such a good job.
Thanks, Valerie, for sharing! Stay tuned for more Mississippi Eye Care Staff Spotlights.
