In case you missed the news, our Mississippi Eye Care family recently expanded! Without further ado, we are pleased to be introducing Mississippi Eye Care Carthage as the newest clinic to join our family.
About Mississippi Eye Care Carthage
Part of introducing Mississippi Eye Care Carthage includes sharing a little more about its history. Formerly known as Simmons Eye Care, the local eye care clinic first opened in Carthage in 1990 under the direction of Dr. Neil Simmons.
Dr. Simmons, who has been in private practice in the area for more than 30 years, will still be a friendly face in the now Mississippi Eye Care Carthage office.
In fact, patients can also expect the same high-quality care and vision health services they are accustomed to. Services include comprehensive vision exams, the diagnosis and treatment of specific eye conditions and an optical department, just to name a few.
More about the clinic
As we continue introducing Mississippi Eye Care Carthage as our newest local clinic, we’d also like to take a moment to introduce you to a new face you may see around. Visitors on Tuesdays will have the chance to say hello to Mississippi Eye Care’s own Dr. Channing Bucklew.
Dr. Bucklew, who, like Dr. Simmons, is a Louisville native, will practice in the Carthage office once a week. Dr. Bucklew has been part of the Mississippi Eye Care team since 2019. He will continue to serve both Mississippi Eye Care Louisville and Noxubee Eye Care in Macon as well.

Location and hours
Established and new patients alike can find Mississippi Eye Care Carthage located at 110 N. Van Buren St. Appointments, emergencies and walk-ins are welcome Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
